About Sea & Weave

Katrina is a fibre artist, art instructor and mother of three. She began her love of macramé in 2019 when her youngest daughter was a baby and she was at home with three little kids, struggling to find time for herself and manage the stressors of motherhood. She began making art during nap times and evenings and quickly fell in love with the therapeutic nature of the fibre medium. Her daughters and her began a daily ritual of collecting driftwood from the many beautiful beaches of Vancouver Island during the day, and she would weave at night. She began selling her art to friends and family and then slowly grew from there with an Instagram account and selling in local shops and at markets. Her passion and skill grew and she noticed how much her physical and mental health improved with her daily creative practice.

Katrina now shares her love for art and its healing powers with others, through her macramé workshops, take home kits, and private art therapy sessions. She is currently working towards becoming a Certified Art Therapy Practitioner and works with clients one on one in her practicum sessions. Katrina believes creative expression is a fundamental need and uses her knowledge of psychology, vagal nerve toning, and creativity to aid the mind-body connection in healing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. She believes art is for everyone and that everyone is creative!
