About Katrina

Katrina is a fibre artist, certified Art Therapy Practitioner, and mother of three. She began her love of macramé in 2019 when her youngest daughter was a baby and she was at home with three little kids, struggling to find time for herself and manage the stressors of motherhood and poor mental health. Along with seeing a somatic therapist she began making art during nap times and evenings and quickly fell in love with the therapeutic nature of the fibre medium. Katrina’s  passion and skill grew and she noticed how much her physical and mental health improved with her daily creative practice. This powerful new tool inspired Katrina to learn more about the therapeutic effects of art on the body and led to studying and completing her certification as an Art Therapy Practitioner.

Katrina now shares her love for art and its healing powers with others, through her private therapeutic art sessions and group workshops, as well her macramé workshops and take home kits. Katrina believes creative expression is a fundamental need and uses her knowledge of psychology, somatic therapy, vagal nerve toning, and creativity to aid the mind-body connection in healing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. She believes art is beneficial for every body and that everyone is creative!

Thank you for being here and happy creating!
