The Art in Rest
Where the art in rest allows creativity to surface.
Rest is not only about sleep or doing nothing. It can also mean stepping away from the pressure to be productive, quieting the noise of our minds, and making space for something that nourishes us. Creativity is often overlooked as a form of rest, and this evening is an invitation to experience it.
The Evening
We will begin with gentle vagus nerve exercises and grounding practices, helping the body settle and shift toward the parasympathetic nervous system, the state associated with rest and recovery.
From this place, Katrina will guide us into Zentangle, a meditative drawing practice using simple, repetitive patterns to slow down, focus on the present moment, and create without expectation. Here, creativity becomes a space to release the need to get things right, soften self criticism, and reconnect with ourselves one small stroke at a time.
Alongside this practice, Miranda will share the quiet signs of depletion and how the body speaks to us when our energy reserves begin to run low. She will explore the five areas of rest and how creative rest can become a source of both inner and outer connection.
